I am pleased to offer this magnificent example of American Brilliant Glass. This knife rest is absolutely breathtaking and quite large at nearly 6" in length. It is beautifully blown with large air trap "bubbles" in either bulbous end. This technique is achieved only by master blowers. The cuts are superb as well with a combination of notching and beveling in parallel lines that creates a wonderful prismatic effect. The glass is clear and "white" and has great color when held to the light. This knife rest is American and attributed to J Hoare. Condition is excellent. Circa 1850's.
