Another beautiful example of Schafer and Vater's jasperware figurals. This lovely Egyptian Revival cup and saucer feature the head of a lovely Egyptian maiden. Beautiful pink jasperware makes this set particularly appealing. It dates back to the Art Deco era around 1925 when Egyptian themes were so popular following the opening of King Tut's tomb. Could even be earlier from the Art Nouveau movement. The saucer measures 3 5/8" in diameter and the cup is 1 1/2" high and 1 3/4" in diameter. The cup also has a beautiful highly glazed interior and painted details to her face. The condition is very good. Marked with the Schafer and Vater logo of a crown and star shape containing with R for Rudolstadt, Thuringia Germany on the bottom. Also has the model number. I have more S & V pieces out of the same collection that I will be lising. One is a larger version of this face in a head vase form.
