I just love Chinese jewelry from the 1920's. So feminine and interesting. This suite features a flapper style necklace. This is one of the prettiest Chinese necklace I have seen in quite some time. The pastel colors are lovely and are a nice complement to the design. The necklace is made up of a combination of 5 carved and dyed bone floral beads with 4 polished pink quartz or peking glass round beads strung on a silk macrame cord. The centerpiece is a reticulated carved floral medallion measuring 2" by 1 1/2". The ivory is dyed in muted hues of pink and black which coordinates with the accent beads. Truly lovely in both design and materials. The necklace measures 33" long not including the drop. A nice wearable length. Condition is good with the exception of two small areas of loss to the central medallion which is hard to see due to the busy pattern. The macrame has darkened with age.. Still a very lovely antique Chinese necklace. Accompanying the necklace is a matching bracelet that is incredibly well made.. just look at the clasp and chain closure! It features rectangular shaped links that are also of carved bone with pink highlighted flowers. It measures 1 1/8" wide and 8" end to end. To complete the set are the matching screwback earrings. A lovely vintage Art Deco set from China. Circa 1910-1920. Great vintage condition.
