I am pleased to offer this fresh estate find. An exquisite Limoges vase by premier French ceramist and decorator, Camille Tharaud. The design and color are superb. Transitional piece evoking nuances of the Art Nouveau style and a hint of Deco. The color is a deeply saturated cobalt blue with lightly tinged pink and a floral design outlined in rich gold highlights. Truly divine in every way. Tharaud glazes are unsurpassed in their beauty and saturated color. Limoges pieces with the Lemovices mark are highly desirable as this represented the best of Tharaud's work and they were produced for a short period during the height of the French Art Deco period so they are quite rare. The vase measures 6 1/2" high and is marked with the green CT Camille Tharaud trademark and a blue "Lemovices" decorators mark. Circa 1925. As a side note, most of the pieces are currently in Europe so availability is quite scarce. A round vase of similar quality and color is currently listed in France for $680.
