Offered for your consideration is a beautiful antique Chinese folding screen from the Ching Dynasty. Dating to the turn of the last century. The screen is comprised of four folding panels with elaborately carved ebonised framework featuring birds and foliage. The interior panels are a deep rich ruby lacquered wood with applied carved and dyed bone and mother of pearl geese in habitat design. The screen is measures 39 1/2" high and 49 1/2" wide. The top carved domelike panels are removable. The condition is good with the exception of one of the top panels which has been cracked and reglued (see photo)and a couple of minor losses to the decor. Hard to see with so much decoration. With a little further attention it would be completely camouflaged. Many times you only see these as two panel, it is rare to see a complete screen like this one. A very nice antique piece that can stand on the ground or be displayed on a wall or above a bed. There is a larger version of this one currently up on Ebay for $3800! More photos available on request.
