Truly wonderful and unique Art Nouveau hatpin with bookend cherry motif. This silver beauty is embellished with gold gilt highlighting the repousse cherry motif. It measures 5 1/4" long, the triangular ends 1 1/4" by 7/8". The hatpin attaches to a hat band or elsewhere by unscrewing one of the ends which is finely threaded. This hatpin came from an estate of a wealthy lady who travelled throughout Europe in the 1920's. It is most likely French or German in origin. No markings, but solid silver. Absolutely gorgeous and a very rare example of this type of millinery ornament.
