Magnificent Coro Duette with two cockatoo fur clips that can be worn separately or together as a brooch. This lovely piece is loaded with "diamond" rhinestones which are pave set into a rhodium plated metal ( a member of the platinum family which never tarnishes!) The feathers, beaks, and flower branches are brilliantly enameled in rich blue, green, yellow, red and pink. Condition is good with no missing stones and the enamelling is near perfect just a few minor rubs. This is one of the best examples I have seen. 31/2" by nearly 2". Signed "Coro Duette" in script on the back of the main clip portion, and is also marked with the Patent Number 1,798,867. This design patent dates to the 1930's, but this actual piece was created by Coro designer, Gene Verrecchio on April 8, 1941. Design number 126490. I can direct interested parties to a website which shows the original patent design and documentation. An outstanding addition to your vintage jewelry collection.
