Unbelievable craftsmanship and fine carving went into this adorable pair of Victorian Ladies boots. Known as treenware or treen, small wooden utilitarian objects that were also sometimes works of art in their own right. This pair of boots look like they may have been intended to be pincushions. The realism and artistry is wonderful. The woodworker took extra care in fashioning the stitched details with a stippling technique. The buttons up the side are little metal fasteners of some sort. The boots have been mounted on a newer round disk that is made of a different type of wood. I do not know the age of these boots so I am referring to them as vintage. They are true works of art that must have taken many many hours to carve and finish. Incredible.
