Interesting old articulated fish in sterling silver with green gem eyes. The fish is realistically rendered with a body and fins that move. The eyes look to be either tourmaline or glass and are bezel set. The sections of the body have been edged in a serrated fashion and etched with a pattern creating the illusion of scales. The fins also have a serrated treatment and an etched zig zag pattern. The tail is marked 925 for sterling. This fish dates to the 1930's and has a very dark patina giving it an almost bronze look. It has not been cleaned. Completely handmade and intricately designed. Lots of hours went into the making of this piece. It weighs 20.5 grams and is 5" in length, 2 1/4" in height and 1 1/4" wide. A really wonderful collectible sure to capture the hearts of fish lovers.
