I am pleased to offer for sale, this wonderful vintage pair of Wahpeton Rosemeade pottery figural pig salt and pepper shakers. These pigs have personality plus, real character to their posture and faces. Both retain their original corks and one the original price tag. They look to have never been used and are in near mint condition. They are done in an Arts and Crafts Craftman matte green glaze that was made popular by art pottery companies like Grueby. A color that is highly coveted among collectors of the period. Wahpeton was founded by Laura Taylor and later renamed Rosemeade, North Dakota Pottery in 1953. These pigs are early and were made around 1948. A very rare and collectible set. One shaker has three holes at the top and the other has. Measuring 4 1/6" tall. The condition is excellent but there is a tiny area where the glaze has a rough area that can be felt with a finger. This was done in manufacturing and is not damage. A really nice pair of shakers worthy of the finest collection.
