Exquisite in every way, this Victorian era stickpin is DIVINE. A rare heart shaped garnet is the focal point. The stone is of excellent AAA gem quality and is set in a raised beaded bezel surmounted on a fanciful heart framework of creamy vanilla enamel, accented by two beautiful little seed pearls. The stickpin is in perfectly amazing condition. The garnet is approximately one carat and measures 6mm by 7mm. The pin stem is marked with a karat content that looks like a 1 and a partial O.. but tests as at least 14k. Maybe 18? or 10 but tests as 14. A gorgeous and rare late Victorian, early Edwardian stickpin. A sweetheart of a piece. Heart shaped garnets were popular during the Victorian era. My Great Grandmother's wedding ring featured two garnets back to back. Today, they are exceedingly hard to find!
