Just in time for Christmas! comes this beautiful antique Floradora doll by Armand Marseille. This shoulder head bisque doll with large original jointed leather body dates to around 1900 . She is in her original clothing which has multiple layers.. The cotton batiste dress, slips and pantaloons are trimmed in hand tatted lace. Just beautiful. There is an original label on the front of her body which is visible through her pantaloons but as they have never been removed and are stitched on, I didn't want to disturb her clothing. She has a lovely kid leather body with bendable knees and bisque arms and head. No damage, the white kid leather looks near perfect. .. She has gorgeous blue paperweight eyes that have been put in place with some cotton batting. . They are not set permanently. At some time, they were most likely sleep eyes. She retains her original high peachy face coloring which is amazing. . Nicely painted lower lashes and original accent dots to corner of eyes and nostrils.. Feathered eyebrows. Her right one has some slight rubbing to the paint. Gorgeous deep cleft in chin. White porcelain upper teeth. Her wig is a replacement. She displays beautifully. A really nice doll. Marked Floradora and Made in German on the back of her breast plate. Leather has original price stamped on the back. She measures approximately 22" tall and is in nice condition. Looks to hardly have been played with and was well loved. She would look lovely under your Christmas tree. This is an opportunity to own a piece of doll history or perhaps get her as a memorable gift and heirloom for someone to treasure.
