Very rare to find Georgian earrings with this lovely design. Magnificent pendant earrings with gold hollow work featuring a feminine ribbon framework featuring collet set pink pastes. The colorful stones are accented with delicately etched grape leaves and swirling tendrils with a single gold ball on each. There have been some repairs over time with ear wire replacements and evidence of solder here and there. The earwires are open and have some bends which is typical. The deep pink paste stones are meant to resemble rubies and one of the collets is missing a bit of gold but they show nicely. Circa 1830-1840, antebellum era. Pretty beautiful and in good shape considering they are 180 + years old! They measure 1 3/4" long and 7/8" wide. Light weight and comfortable to wear. Unmarked as was typical in antique Victorian jewelry. 9 or 10 carat solid gold. A similar pair is featured on another website for $1400.
