What a wonderful find for the horse lovers out there! This vintage horse plaque is so charming. The horse is quite handsome and framed in a lucky horse shoe. The wooden intarsia work is very well done and the artistic realism is amazing. The artist used different types and shades of wood picking out the various details. The bridle is inlaid with dots of bone and the horse's eye is inlaid with Mother of Pearl. This plaque is quite old, most likely dating to the 1920's, it came from an old estate here in Oregon . It measures 9" high by 10" wide and is 1/2" thick. On the reverse there is a string for hanging on a wall that has been attached with two leather straps.
