RARE Parian LADY With Removable CURLS by Kling
20" of BEAUTIFUL Parian with removable cluster of curls. Here is a doll you just don't see. If you do find one usually you seldom find one in excellent condition. This doll has no damage and no repair. She has her removable curls still in tact. . We have not removed them and don't think they should be removed for the safety sake of the doll but, you can clearly see where the cluster of curls stops and starts. Pierced ears with original earrings. RARE swivel head. The total height of the doll is 20" and the height of the head from the bottom of the shoulder plate is 5-1/4". Her beautiful hairstyle has waved comb-marked hair arranged on each side of the center with fine brushstrokes around the hairline. Immaculately painted face with so much expression. Nice rosy cheeks, sweet closed mouth with accent line between the lips. nice sharp adult nose with nostril accents. Very pretty expressive brows are accentuated by highlight over cobalt blue glass eyes with delicate painted upper and lower lashes. There were no markings on these early dolls. Her early body is in excellent condition and is cloth stitch jointed with early china limbs. She is beautifully dressed in all vintage clothes including under set and socks. This doll has it ALL. So rare and charming. She doesn't have any shoes but, she does have everything else looks and charm. See Identifying German Parian Dolls by Mary Gorham Krumbholtz. Circa 1860's to 1870.
