Antique 12" William Goebel Wind Up waltzing/walking Doll Laughing Character child in good working order.

When you wind up the side of this mechanical toy, it glides across the ground. This doll is reminiscent of an earlier autoperipatetikos from the late 1800's. This doll is circa 1915. The laughing smiling character bisque head is marked with the crown and G for Goebel and 01 7/0. You can turn the front wheel so the doll goes in a circle or turn the front wheel straight and the doll will go straight.

Laughing character bisque head with open/closed laughing mouth with molded upper teeth, painted eyes, rosy cheeks, and wonderful molded front cute curl on the forehead of the doll.

The arms are made of celluloid and the base is a cardboard/papier mache carton covered wood material. Doll is wearing original white cotton dress with light blue ribbon detailing on bodice. The blue silk ribbon has been added

This whimsical piece is from a non smoking home.

Circa 1915 is very clean. No damage and no repair.
