23 inch Antique German papier mache doll, most likely Andreas Voit, circa 1850. The shoulderhead features dark brown glass eyes with short painted lashes and pierced nostrils. The ball head has a black painted pate covered by a human hair wig. There are some craze lines on the back of the head and some repair.
The original cloth body with above the elbow papier mache arms is stitch jointed so that she sits well. Please take note of her fabulous original brown leather slippers tied around her ankles. There are three circles on the soles.
She wears an cotton print dress, slip and drawers. Atop her head is an antique silk and straw hat.
She is looking forward to sitting in a chair in her new home.
