11-inch antique English poured wax infant doll, circa 1870, wearing her all original layers of clothing. This petite baby has a turned shoulder head, inserted sparse baby-like blonde human hair, bright blue glass eyes, and painted mouth. The body is cloth with poured wax arms, legs and head.
Each piece of clothing is all hand sewn with tiny stitches. Her long white gown trimmed with blue silk ribbon is layered over a white cotton shirt, long petticoat and cream barrow slip with silk feather stitching. For outings, she wears a fine blue wool hood, and matching long cape trimmed with silk fringe. Blue and white knitted booties fit so snugly that we didn't attempt to remove them.
If you have a larger wax child doll, this tiny babe would love to be held by her. They used Hemp wrapped head arms and legs (pictured).
The doll and clothing are in wonderful condition, all clean with no damage
