Antique 17" French Fashion Jumeau Doll circa 1870. Doll is completely factory original except antique hat!!
The train on the dress is truly wonderful and over the top - just how we like em'! The train is covered with lace and bows and the two piece fitted fashion dress of cotton organdy is covered with so much lace it is hard to describe and even her slip has a train. The underset all has matching lace so you know they all came together.
Wearing her auburn colored mohair wig that matches her eye brows perfectly, wig is over antique cork pate.
This is an early Jumeau French fashion doll - she is on her original sturdy clean gusseted kid leather Jumeau body. You know this is a Jumeau body because it has that distinctive V roll on the front of the body. Separately stitched fingers,we didn't take off the boots.
This beautiful doll was sold by the Simmone doll store in France circa 1870 and is stamped on torso of this darling French Fahsion doll Simmone with address on tummy.
Such a gorgeous face with outstanding painting of eyes fine delicate bisque
No damage and no repairs and from a non smoking environment.
Huge blue glass paperweight eyes with even bisque painting and painted upper and lower lashes - cute closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, wonderful finely feathered painted eyebrows, accented nostrils, and jointed bisque socket head on bisque shoulder plate. Free of any imperfections.
She wears her original turquoise colored necklace and matching earrings which are factory original and seem perfect for her AMAZING ensemble!
Dress is antique and so opulent with so much detail it is Just stunning. She still retains her fine leather shoe button ankle boots. The boots show a little wear around the edge. An antique bonnet on her head adds the finishing touch. I don't think this doll was ever undressed until we did it to show the body.
