Antique 15" Marked C Early Smiling Bru French Fashion Empress Eugenie Ca.1873 WOW!
This early antique French bisque doll is marked with a "C" on the back of her head, her size which indicates she is a 15" doll. The inspiration behind the face of this doll is thought to be Empress Eugenie. This woman was the last Empress consort of the French from 1853 to 1871 as the wife of Napoleon III, Emperor of the French.
This doll has NO DAMAGE AND NO REPAIRS.
She has a serene smiling face with blue glass set eyes, upper and lower painted eyelashes, accented nostrils and eye corners, rosy cheeks, finely feathered eyebrows, sturdy kid leather antique lady body (with molded bosom) that has original French label intact from the Paris store she was sold from. The fingers are individually sewn and fragile on both hands as you can see in the photos. She has one earring and a necklace....
Dressed for a crisp afternoon walk, she is wearing a blue silk dress with darker blue trim along the bottom of the dress. She has a matching green velvet bonnet with cream and blue trim. It ties perfectly under her chin.
This spectacular doll also come with a more casual antique striped cotton ensemble, an embroidered blouse, a factory chemise,leather boots, underclothes and a faux tortoise brush.
She is clean and from a smoke free environment.
