We love a great French doll and this one is so much fun because has a RARE double row of little teeth one row on the top and one on the bottom.! She is incised on the back of her head J. Steiner Bte SGDG Paris Fire B 17.
This doll has a perfect bisque socket head with original spring in neck and no damage or repair.
She has blue glass set paperweight eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes with "dot" highlights, rose blushed shadow, multi brush stroked feathered brows, accented eye corners, pierced ears and a slightly smiling open mouth which reveals her rare double row of tiny sculpted teeth, .
The wig is brown human hair over an antique Steiner pate. She is on her original French composition/papier mache body with straight wrists and long slender fingers.
The torso has the original factory paper label and "mama" "Papa" crier pull strings on the side.
When the strings are pulled, she makes a Mama/ Papa sound. The body has its original finish and is in good condition with characteristic Steiner outlined white finger nails and separated turned up big toe.
Wearing a sweet heavily embroidered original cotton antique costume,white socks and antique leather shoes, and a fabulous antique net bonnet of gathered lace and silk ribbons.
From a smoke free environment. Just a wonderful French doll that is a can't miss. c.1889
