Group of sixteen 5" tall carved bovine bone figures consisting of 8 figures representing males and 8 representing females. They have darkened eyes and a tuft of black hair at the top of the heads. Please study the photos for details in the carving which vary because they are hand carved from figure to figure. There is wood in the base probably for stability.
These tribal art carvings suggest fertility figures from the southeast Asian area of Timor or Indonesia. In good primitive condition with no breaks.
