This 18 inch Schoenhut boy with decal mark, is style 405 made from 1912 to 1924 according to Schoenhut Dolls A Collectors Encyclopedia by Carol Corson.
He has wonderfully original face paint featuring shallow intaglio blue eyes, thin brown brows and a pale coral pouty mouth. The light blond wig is original. His spring jointed Schoenhut body has excellent original paint (a scuff on one knee) and holds a pose well.
He is dressed in his original white two piece suit with pants that button onto the shirt, a wide brimmed hat found on many boy Schoenhuts, and brown cotton Schoenhut socks. The original grommet soled shoes are in a very compromised condition, one having little of the upper remaining. An attempted repair was made on them at some point. The original Schoenhut socks with cut out at the bottom have a finished edge around it so the doll could have a Schoenhut doll stand with the prong in it that fits through the shoe and sock into the foot. See pictures.
A Schoenhut with all original face paint with no touch up is a rare find. Add the originality of his clothing and you have a real treasure.......
This Schoenhut is very clean and from a non smoking environment. .
