Maker and Age: Moser (Bohemian); 1870s-80s
Details: Another masterful Moser creation -- a beautiful hand blown deep "pigeon blood" red glass dresser box enhanced with the often used mustard-orange hand enameling forming bouquets of flowers, foliage and possibly fruit on the top of the lid and the front of the bowl. By using several different layers of enameling the artist created a wonderful feeling of depth, another sign of the highest level of excellence found at the Moser glass house. In describing the glass as "pigeon blood" red I am referring to the very deep, rich burgundy-red hue of old, not the more red-orange hue sometimes referred to as pigeon blood of late. The glass itself is red; it is NOT clear glass with a red flashing applied to the outside only. The design of the dresser box is completed with brass hardware, which includes the four ormolu feet, an especially attractive touch.
Dimensions: 4.75 inches high X 5 inches in diameter
Condition: Excellent! The clarity of the glass is outstanding; hand painting beautifully preserved with only a bit of wear on some of the high points.
Shipping: The dresser box will be shipped via USPS Priority mail with insurance. International customers, please inquire about availability and cost of insured shipping to your location.
