Maker & Age: Harrach (Bohemian), late 1800s
Details: An impressive center bowl, used most often to serve bananas when bananas first became "the thing" among the wealthy in Europe. Cranberry glass enhanced with silver spangles forms the outside glass layer with the white glass casing providing a pallet for a colorful hand enameled bouquet of flowers. Consistent with the work of almost all of the Bohemian glass makers, the bowl and base rims are ground and polished. (Also in our shop you can see another of these large banana serving bowls in robin egg blue glass with white enameled floral decor.)
Dimensions: 11.25" long X 7" wide X 4.25" high
Condition: Excellent, some wear to the enameled decor
Shipping: The bowl will be shipped via USPS Priority mail with insurance. International customers, please inquire about availability and cost of insured shipping to your location.
