Unmarked English silver plated (EPNS) biscuit barrel with military inscription and dog head handles with suspended rings. We love the dog heads. What a great barrel for dog treats. The hinged domical cover has a reeded border and ebonized wooden knob, above a cylindrically-shaped body, part reeded with a tucked in base with reeded edge. Inscription reads, "Armourer Serg t. Fieldhouse/1st prize/Sergeant's Race/Seaforth High(lan)ders/1890". Exterior is completely worn to the nickel giving the piece a light golden hue, while the interior still retains the silver plating. The barrel measures 7 ¾ inches high to tip of knob, 5 ¼ inches diameter opening, 4 1/8 inches diameter base.
