A gorgeous Old Sheffield Plate tea urn, circa 1790, of vase form, high cover with flaming urn finial, beaded loop handles with leafy ends (both repaired), urn shaped handle on a squared beaded spigot, squared platform base raised on four compressed ball feet, tinned interior. Front of body crested with a bird holding a leafy branch in its beak in an oval reserve suspended by a bow with trailing bell flowers. The tea urn is 14 ¼ inches high and 7 inches across handles; Square base is 3 ¾ inches by 3 ¾ inches. Condition: wear to copper on the high points, old repairs, and loose pitch in the sealed square base. Despite its age and wear our tea urn presents beautifully.
