An unusual find – an iron cheese tester used for grading texture, taste and smell of cheese circa 1899. Tester comes with its original leather sheath. Maker W. Hislop, Edinburg which was purchased by Herbert & Sons, 7 West Smithfield, London, in 1897. Length of tester 7 inches. Metal handle is 3 7/8th inches.
