A fine 18th century gilt-wood standing figure of the virgin in richly embroidered and gilt bellowing robes, carved in the round. Figure stands on a carved naturalistic ground attached to a similarly aged wooden pedestal. Mounted height 17 ¾ inches; height of figure 12 ¾ inches. Hands are missing and there is paint loss and some splits commensurate with age. From the estate of Paul Suckling, Toronto.
