A beautiful Dutch brass wine cooler or jardinière resting on four large lion paws and having ring handles in lion head mounts. Originally used as wine coolers, these brass pots are now also used as jardinières. Length 16 inches to end of lion’s nose. Opening is 13 ¾ inches by 10 inches. Height 6 ¼ inches. There are a few old solder repairs to the underside and around the lion feet; also a few miniscule worn areas on the bottom where pinpricks of light are visible when the pot is held up to the light. A few minor splits on body that are very hard to spot.
