A rare and exotic early English sterling silver mounted coconut shell punch ladle, circa 1720. Unmarked. Original handle is missing and was replaced sometime in the past with a chopstick. Restoring the ladle by replacing the chopstick with a turned wooden handle identical to the original handle is not a big issue. Length with chopstick handle 15 ½ inches; cup diameter 2 ¼ inches; cup depth 1 7/8 inches. Except for the missing handle, ladle is in excellent condition for its age and has only a few scratches to coconut inside cup.
