A fine and rare 18th century German parcel-gilt Munzbecher set with identical copper coins (Kreuzers) from Wurtemberg and chased with scrolled strapwork on a matted ground, circa 1730s. Base is a silver Stolberg-Stolberg 12 Mariengroschen one/third thaler dated 1712. Marked for Landshut, zig-zag assay scrape, and maker (CB). Also import mark and remarked in Leiback, Solvenia 1808. Height 3 7/8 inches; diameter of opening 3 ¼ inches; of base 2 1/8 inches. Weight 140 grams. Wear to surface copper coins as a result of polishing over 250 years.
