An extraordinarily rare and fine hand-crafted Canadian sterling silver bowl made by Harold Emerson Houghton who was born in Birmingham, England in 1890 and died in Toronto, Canada in 1965. Both exterior and interior of bowl are gold-washed. Bowl with all the family names was presented in 1945 probably as an anniversary gift. Additional family names are scratched on the bottom. Height 2 ½ inches; diameter 5 3/8 inches. Weight 416 grams. Photos show actual wear to the gilt.
