A pair of exquisite wine jugs. Each mallet-shaped jug has a bulbous lower body with cross-hatching, a vertically-panelled shoulder, and a high, cylindrical upper body also cross-hatched. Lower body is tucked in and rests on a thick, rayed base. Each has an 833 fine silver wide collar, a sparrow beak spout, and a double-hinged lid. Each is hallmarked on outside of collar, and on lid “s’Gravenhage 1899.” Maker’s mark is present but unidentified. Height 9 3/8 inches. Fine condition commensurate with age.
