Twelve fine German 800 silver service plates of shaped, circular form with moulded rims. Each is crested on the border. Each bears the German national mark. Maker J.C. Osthues, Münster, Westfalia (two are also marked for M.H. Wilkens und Söhne). Plates date from 1890s. Diameter 9 ½ inches. The plates are very heavy and cannot be lifted with one hand; total weight 5,080 grams or 163 Troy ounces. Each plate is a different weight. Also, some plates are marked 800 for the silver content; others are marked 13 (for 800 silver). For a detailed list of the weight of each plate and different marks, please ask us.
