A fine, early, rare Meissen saucer depicting a European castle and figures within an elaborate scrollwork cartouche filled with Böttger lustre and embellished with purple patterns and two figures with iron red touches, gilt Chinoiserie framework. Reverse with three floral depictions, crossed swords in underglaze blue, and gilt numeral 27 (or 67.) Saucer was retailed by George Gravert Antiques, a highly-regarded Boston antique dealer for over fifty years. Diameter 4 ¾ inches; height 1 inch. Condition: chip at 4 o'clock with hairline crack flowing from chip.
