A well-preserved white damask napkin with the Imperial double-headed eagle in the center and the cipher of Emperor Alexander II in each of the four corners. It was a difficult subject for our photographs and we hope you can see the details. Napkin is 13 ½ inches square. It presents beautifully, fully-opened between two glass panes, framed and resting on an artist's stand. Provenance: The Byington Collection, which is acknowledged in: Tsar: The Lost World of Nicholas & Alexandra by Peter Kurth (p. 223); and Olga Romanov: Russia's Last Grand Duchess by Patricia Phenix (p. 296), and was acquired directly from the family of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna. Napkin comes with a letter of provenance from the Byington Collection. Condition: a few minor rust specks which a good restorer can eliminate.
