An antique German beaker or "Munzbecher," the body applied with genuine mostly German and Austrian coins. Circa 1904. Height 8 ¼ inches; diameter at flared rim 3 ½ inches. Condition: beaker would have been silverplated with parcel gilt at one time, but is worn to copper and brass now; parcel gilt lower body and ball feet are also worn; there is a crack near the rim where a previous owner pushed the insert too rigorously. Still, it's an unusual fun piece.
