An exquisite Bohemian flaring blue, cut-to-clear glass comport with silver mounts of at least 800 silver standard. The glass bowl measures 8 inches in diameter and has eleven lobes. It sits on a circular stand with four pad legs, embossed shoulder, surmounted by three free-standing winged griffons. Stand has two scrolled handles. Hallmarked: Hamburg, circa 1840. Maker: Johann Friedrich Brahmfeld. Assay master: Jacob N.W. Schaeffer. Stand is 10 ½ inches over handles; 9 ½ inches high to handle tips; 5 inch diameter. Weight of silver mounts 319 grams. Condition: See photos for chips to several glass lobes; not really noticeable because of the richness of the cut glass.
