This dazzling pair of double-armed sconces is ornamented with heavy repousse in a harvest theme—sunflowers and hearts surrounded by fruits and vegetables, circa 1800. When lit, the reflectors glitter like gems. The 9 ½ inch by 8 ½ inch hood on the top of each sconce reflects additional light and also deflects smoke from the ceiling. They are 26 inches tall to the top of the reflector by 16 ¼ inches wide. The arms extend 8 inches; the large candleholders are in the form of sunflowers and measure 5 inches wide x 3 inches deep. One of the candleholders is wobbly, but easily repairable. Formerly graced the walls of Schloss Gewelinghausen in Munster. Baronial provenance available.
