A splendid four piece bedroom set was hand carved in Italy about 1900 in the Renaissance manner and includes a bed adapted to queen size, chest or dresser and a pair of nightstands.
The original finish is in extremely fine condition on this solid wormy walnut palatial antique furniture. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and original hardware. The bed has been expertly adapted to fit a standard modern queen size mattress. A demonstrator mattress and spring unit are 18" thick together as shown. Wood supports underneath are included, original side rails were extended.
The Queen bed measures 70 1/2" wide, 88" long, the headboard is 67" tall and the footboard is 40" high.
Marble tops have been polished and sealed to resist stains, brass hardware is original. The chest has an original beveled mirror flanked by jewel boxes. Size is 49" wide, 24" deep, 89" tall and the marble top is 41" high.
A true pair of right and left nightstands measure 19" wide, 15" deep and 33" tall.
