An authentic Country French armoire, wardrobe or linen closet was hand hewn of solid wormy walnut about 1750. Every surface is hand planed, panels are raised, joints have carved square wooden pegs.
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving lots of dings, mars and losses for antique character. There are various restorations over the centuries on this marvelous antique provincial furniture from France.
The door has a working giant iron lock and key. Wrought iron lift off hinges are original on this rugged armoire.
Interior depth is 23," so the empty interior could be fitted with a closet pole or shelves if desired. Holes have been cut in the back for electronic cables.
Overall measurements including the detachable crown are 63" wide and 31" deep, the body is 56" wide, 27" deep and 89" tall.
