A wonderful country pine French Provincial armoire was entirely hand hewn about 1800. Every surface shows tool marks of a master rural carpenter. Joints have carved wooden pegs and hand cut nailheads are visible on this historic furniture from France.
The old finish is in very fine condition with exceptionally warm antique patina. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain the soft luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Shelves are removable, the giant iron lock still works and lift off iron hinges are original. The crown is removable for easier transport.
Measurements are 47 1/2" wide at the crown, 42" wide in the body, 23" deep and 7' 1" tall, the interior is over 17" deep.
