A spectacular American Empire solid "tiger" curly grain maple chest or dresser has contrasting walnut columns and knobs.
Hand crafted in New England in the 1830's, the finish is excellent with glowing antique patina. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms.
Pictures show that the top drawer was dovetailed by a different carpenter than the rest, probably an apprentice. Beautifully proportioned, the large drawers glide smoothly on this historic furniture.
Size is 46" wide, 24" deep and 44" tall.
