A French marble mantel clock from about 1880 signed "Marti" has a statue of "Chasse" or The Hunt, a winged cherub or angel with a bow and arrows and a bird. The sculpture is signed (see photo)
The brass movement has been professionally cleaned and oiled. There are restorations to the classical marble case which has bronze lion paw feet.
The brass movement keeps accurate time for a week on a winding, a silvery bell counts the hour and rings the half hour. The hand painted porcelain dial has a beveled glass door on this elegant antique clock.
