A "recamier," chaise lounge or fainting couch was carved in the Regency manner of solid cherry about 1870 in England, and has its original ebonized finish and bronze mounts. Newly upholstered with button tufting, the seat is comfortable.
There are numerous touchups to the finish, which has been preserved with new varnish. The frame has mars at the edges and shrinkage separations from age, see photos. This elegant antique furniture has been reglued to be tight and strong for another generation. Bronze wheels are original, there are minor losses to the mounts.
Size is 67" long, 25" wide, 34" tall and the seat is 18" high.
