A Country French curio or china cabinet was remodeled from an 1800 era hand carved oak armoire. Wood panels were replaced with shaped and beveled glass. The interior was fitted with a shelf and drawers plus adjustable 3/8" plate glass shelves with polished edges and a carved plate display groove. The alterations were expertly done at great expense.
The old finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Hand hewn with hand carved details, joints have wooden pegs. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. For easier moving, the crown is removable. The original wrought iron lock and key still work on this antique furniture from France.
Dimensions are 5' wide at the crown, 18" deep and 8' 1" tall.
