A very sweet pair of salt and pepper shakers featuring a violet colored thistle flower, with a vine of green leaves surrounding. Fine gold pen work outlines the leaves and accents the flower bud.
As is often the case with the tiny bottoms of shakers, there is no room for a decorating studio mark. The artist signature of ESP, as well as the Thistle pattern, can confirm that this set is from Stouffer Studio in Chicago, most likely painted during the first few decades of the 1900's.
The shakers stand about 3" tall. There are no corks in the bottoms. Both are signed ESP.
The condition is extremely fine, with only the most minimal wear. Gold tops are superb, with only a tiny bit of gold loss at just two of the top holes.
A super set!
