Lovely celery dish hand painted in Pickard Studio's ITALIAN GARDEN pattern. I'm not sure if this is officially considered to be a vellum glazed pattern, but it does have that soft-focus look of the vellums.
This piece is signed by artist Paul Gasper, and carries the Pickard decorating mark 7, in use between 1912-1918.
In spite of displaying in beautiful condition, there is a hairline crack that runs parallel to the left side of the larger pillar, from the hanging flowers to where the white mountain starts. Very difficult to see on the front, but more visible from the backside. So sad. Everything else is in excellent condition.
It measures 8-1/2" from handle to handle, and just over 5" top to bottom. It is 1-5/8" high at the handles.
