This large platter, or plaque, is hand painted and signed by artist LEACH (Leach, George P.) Between 1903-1910, Leach was a porcelain artist at Pickard Studio in Chicago. He then left and worked for Stouffer, and the short-lived Rogers Martini studio (1913-1916). In 1915, he opened his own studio.
This piece carries the scarce Rogers-Martini Studio stamp, which places it somewhere between 1913-1915. The blank is Bavarian.
The platter measures 12-5/8" in diameter and rises to about 1-1/2".
The pattern is reminiscent of Pickard's POINSETTIA PENDANT, with a wide gold border and platinum trim. There is some light scratching to the gold towards the outer edge, and center trim (see close-ups). A beautiful, stylized platter!
